At a Microsoft South Africa Awards ceremony held on 14 November 2017, in Johannesburg, Karabina was awarded the Data Analytics Partner of the Year and Re-inventing Productivity Partner of the Year.

The annual event recognises Microsoft partners across a number of competencies, with judging based on innovation, new customers, best live implementations at customers, social responsibility projects and more.

This is the 12th year that Karabina has been named the Data Analytics Partner of the Year. It is a huge achievement as this year the focus was on a relatively new area for the South African market and its customers, namely Microsoft Azure.

The Karabina Data and Analytics team has consistently added new skills to the competency, and developed new ways in assisting our company to access their data, make decisions, compete and essentially grow. From data warehousing in the cloud, migrations, managed services, analytics as a service to advanced and predictive analytics, machine learning and the use of artificial intelligence, the depth and breadth of skills in the company is enviable. Karabina has also placed a focus on employing scarce skills in the data science area and will be showcasing these capabilities going forward.

In 2016, Karabina won the Cloud Productivity Award, re-named in 2017 to the Re-Inventing Productivity Award. This award recognises partners who sell and deploy Microsoft Office 365 cloud and hybrid solutions to customers. From assisting companies with business process automation, workflows and employee collaboration tools, to fully fledged design and implementation of company intranets using SharePoint, to implementing solutions to manage the ever increasing importance of risk and compliance.

Karabina was also named a finalist in the Dynamics 365 for Customer Engagement Award. Karabina has won this award eight times in the past, and will be looking to win it again next year, with exciting solutions focused on the insurance industry, digital marketing automation, and field, service and sales.

"I am so proud of the work the entire Karabina team has done this year. We have grown from strength to strength, always learning and evolving so that we can bring the best solutions to our customers" says CEO of Karabina, Grant van der Wal. "A very big thank you to the leadership team for not only keeping up, but staying on top of the rapid pace of technology these days. This is another proud moment for all of us to celebrate. A thank you to our partner, Microsoft, who give us the opportunity and the platform to innovate on and grow with".

It has been a very successful year for Karabina and its customers. The company will continue to drive leadership, insights and best in class in order for its customers to compete in a digital first world, to help connect with their customers, to understand and maximise the use of their data, drive productivity and enable employees with the right tools to be successful.
