Duxbury-Netgear backs SA's Dakar Rally challengers

Duxbury Networking and Netgear will once again team up to back the Toyota Gazoo Racing South Africa team's bid to win the gruelling Dakar Rally. Three all-new Toyota Hilux racers, proudly flying the Duxbury-Netgear flag, will be on the start line in Lima, Peru on 6 January 2018. The rally follows a route through Argentina and Bolivia to the finish in Cordoba, Argentina on 20 January.

The team is led by former Dakar winner, current SA Cross-Country Series champion and Toyota stalwart, Giniel de Villiers, who will have his regular German navigator Dirk von Zitzewitz alongside him. They are joined in the line-up by Qatar's Nasser Al Attiyah and his French navigator Mathieu Baumel. The third crew in the SA-headquartered team is the Dutch/ French duo of driver Bernard ten Brinke and navigator Michel P'erin.

Netgear promotion

To celebrate the 40th running of the Dakar Rally - which is expected to boast an audience of more than one billion TV viewers and social media followers in over 190 countries - Duxbury Networking and Netgear will be running a promotion featuring three popular Netgear switches. The promotion launches on 6 January 2018. The switches are:

(3) The Netgear GS752TP-100EUS - 48 Port 10/100/1000 Smart Managed Gigabit Switch with 48 Ports PoE, 8 Ports PoE+ sharing a PoE budget of 384W; There are 4x SFP slots for Fibre Modules.

To further boost the Netgear promotion, Tobie van Schalkwyk, Business Development Manager at Duxbury Networking, has announced that Netgear will give away five free GS408EPP-100NES switches to five lucky customers who order any of the promotional items during the course of the Dakar. A prize draw will take place after the event on 20 January.
