BulkSMS.com launches desktop SMS application

BulkSMS.com, a division of Celerity Systems (Pty) Ltd, has for years been a global leader with its Web-based SMS products. Now Bulksms.com has entered the desktop space with the new BulkSMS Text Messenger.

The BulkSMS Text Messenger is a new generation of SMS desktop application designed for quick and easy group and individual messaging. Two-way messaging is supported to Vodacom, MTN and Cell C phones.

The application has the familiar look and feel of an e-mail client and is compatible with the Microsoft Outlook address book.

Dr Pieter E Streicher, Managing Director of BulkSMS.com, says: "We have found that a year or two ago, businesses would send bulk SMS messages maybe once a week. Now these same clients are sending single and small batch messages several times a day. To avoid the hassle of repeatedly logging on to a Web site, clients can now open their Messenger with a single click."

SMS messaging has become more interactive, with clients replying to messages, and businesses replying or forwarding these messages. The need for a powerful application, rich in functionality yet remaining very easy to use, was identified.

The new BulkSMS Text Messenger features:

* Outlook address book integration
* Creation of distribution groups
* Uploading of databases from CSV or TAB delimited files
* Quick messaging to large groups (up to 20 000/group) and individuals
* Personalised messaging and scheduled messaging
* Receiving of SMS replies in an inbox
* Detailed reporting of all sent and received messages

This BulkSMS Text Messenger is easy to install, readily available on your desktop, and ensures the effortless use of single and bulk SMS messaging.

BulkSMS.com will exhibit at the Vodacom Mobile Connect event next week Tuesday at the Sandton Convention Centre, and the new BulkSMS Text Messenger will be on display.

To download the new BulkSMS Text Messenger, users can go to www.bulksms.com. Upon registration, users will receive five free SMS credits.
