360-degree digital signage

360-degree digital signage

The most popular photo and video motives at this year's Integrated Systems Europe event in Amsterdam were the Litefast 360-degree LED displays exhibited by Kinoton GmbH, according to Broadcast Newsroom.

The German projection and display technology company presented an assortment of products in its constantly expanding Litefast series with the 360-degree displays adding a new dimension to digital signage.

The cylindrical displays feature state-of-the-art LED technology, providing brilliant, high-quality pictures up to real HD resolution.

Native XDCAM support from Avid

Avid Technology is addressing customer requests for native support of the Sony XDCAM format with the release of Avid Media Composer (v3.5), Symphony (v 3.5) and NewsCutter (v 7.5) software, reports CNNMoney.

According to the company, Sony XDCAM is a groundbreaking 3D stereoscopic workflow said to be “the death of the dongle".

In addition to an innovative new architecture designed to make these Avid solutions more open, the latest version of the software delivers a variety of new features that enable customers to take advantage of, amongst others, more streamlined and efficient HD audio and video workflows.

Polycom picks Boardman

Video conferencing specialist, Polycom, has opened an office and demonstration in Perth, Australia, appointing Chris Boardman as Western Australian regional sales manager, reports Australian IT.

The company hopes the state's huge scale will prove fertile ground for its services, which are promoted as a way for busy executives to dramatically cut travel costs.

The expansion reflects Polycom's growth in the Australian and New Zealand market last year, with new appointments in Sydney and Melbourne, a doubling of the direct sales headcount and the launch of the Customer Experience Centre in North Sydney.
