MTC unveils the star

Windhoek, 29 Sep 2009

Hot on the heels of the hottest deal in town, the LG Cookie, MTC has lined up another exciting offering for its loyal customers, this time introducing the Samsung S5230, otherwise also known as the Samsung Star.

Customers instantly fell in love with the Cookie, as evidenced by the long queues seen at the Mobile Homes, also during the Tourism Expo and at the recently-concluded Ongwediva Trade Fair, but the Star has now also joined the stable and is bound to have customers singing its praises.

The Star comes complete with a sexy 3-inch WQVGA touch-screen display, proprietary DNSe sound technology, Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, an onboard digital camera with SmileShot, and an “interactive and user-friendly” interface platform. It is an affordable mobile phone, appealing to young and old.

“MTC's introduction of the Samsung Star is part of our continued commitment to offer affordable but hi-tech products and services to our loyal customers. We continue to insist that our customers are our primary consideration and we believe in offering them exciting products as we walk along this path of technological innovation,” said MTC's Managing Director, Miguel Geraldes.

The Samsung will be sold at the MTC Life and Design Expo and the first 1 000 customers applying online (through www.mtc.com.na) from 28 September 2009 will each receive an extra phone for free, similar to when the LG Cookie was sold on the buy-one, get-one-free principle during the Tourism Expo early this year.

And to crown it all, MTC customers who have bought the Samsung Star or have signed up for 3G broadband (Internet) will be entered into the draw for the Alfa Romeo Spider (Cabriolet). Customers who buy other MTC products such as the LG KP105 cellular phone, Tango Airtime Vouchers of N$50 and more, or make account payments of N$50 upwards will be entered into the draw for the brand new Citi Golf. The draw for both cars will be held on Sunday noon.

The MTC Life and Design Expo takes place from 1 to 4 October at the Independence and Hage Geingob stadia. It will officially be opened by Prime Minister Nahas Angula, on Friday, 2 October 2009.
