Microsoft drives content management

At the International Broadcasting Conference in Amsterdam, Microsoft revealed partner solutions built on Microsoft technology for the media and entertainment industry, says TelecomTV.

Microsoft showcased four solutions across 14 different partner demonstrations in digital content management, search and monetisation, media business management, and digital content experiences.

Gabriele Di Piazza, senior director of the media and entertainment business in the communications sector at Microsoft, says: “The evolution of Silverlight, Smooth Streaming and new partner solutions integrated with our new editorial collaboration framework ensure that we continue to work closely with customers like Blueprint Digital, which works with companies such as Tesco, to address their changing business needs.”

American Express, GlobalPlatform partner

American Express has partnered with GlobalPlatform, an international smart card specifications body whose technical specifications for cards, devices and systems are used in more than 300 million smart cards and two billion SIM cards, reports Near Field Communications World.

The two associations are collaborating to advance GlobalPlatform's specifications to secure content management on mobile devices.

Susan Hillel, American Express' senior vice-president of global network operations, says: "We will be in a stronger position to deliver innovative and convenient payment solutions to American Express users globally.”

Azcar acquires Matchframe Video

Azcar Technologies has acquired a controlling interest in Matchframe Video, a media company serving motion picture, television and multimedia clients, states BusinessWire.

By gaining access to Azcar's consulting and system design services, Matchframe will provide management services such as library management, content management and repurposing, and disaster recovery.
