Aastra offers integrated VOIP, unified communications with HP Procurve

New integrated offering reinforces partnership and mutual commitment to deliver best-in-class solutions for the medium and large enterprise market.

Aastra has bolstered its role in the HP ProCurve Open Network Ecosystem alliance (HP ProCurve ONE) with the certification of two of its products with the HP ProCurve Services zl module, delivering a best-in-class integrated IP unified communications solution.

In parallel, the HP Procurve One switches and wireless LAN products have been fully certified through Aastra's comprehensive A2P2 program. This collaboration brings to the market a combined solution offering full integration of an IP telephony application with a wired and wireless networking infrastructure; enabling easier deployment as well as a lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

A founding member of the HP ProCurve ONE Alliance, Aastra is now making the Aastra 5000 and MX-ONE available on the HP ProCurve Services zl module, an application blade for the HP ProCurve Switch 5400zl and 8200zl series. Aastra's MX-ONE and 5000 are highly scalable call control managers for the medium and large enterprise, both available with a complete suite of unified communications and mobility solutions.

The product collaboration between Aastra and HP ProCurve provides a single network and unified communications solution with:

* A lower TCO by reducing investments in hardware and maintenance expenses.
* Reduced complexity with easier deployment and management of network equipment and users.

This allows IT managers to spend less time maintaining the network, and more time on delivering strategic business value.

“This exciting new solution opens up opportunities for our channels supported by our joint sales and marketing activities. Both companies are able to come together to provide a complete, reliable network and unified communications platform for medium and large enterprises,” said Pierre-Alexandre Fuhrmann, joint Vice-President, Global Technology and Development at Aastra.

“Businesses today are looking for solutions that they can trust and that are easy to manage and grow in line with the organisations needs without being locked in a proprietary solution. By embracing industry standards, combined solutions from ProCurve and Aastra deliver choice and flexibility, which can help customers to realise higher returns on investment and lower total cost of ownership,” continued Fuhrmann.

Aastra focuses on an open standards based approach to networking with HP ProCurve, allowing customers to benefit from adaptive, fully secure and reliable solutions today and in the future. The combined solutions deliver choice and flexibility for businesses and the ProCurve architecture ensures a stable, reliable, and interoperable environment for Aastra's IP telephony implementation.

“Customers are facing increased pressures to gain a greater return on their technology investments and ensure their networking infrastructures are capable of adjusting to changing business demands,” said Frank Cohen, director, Worldwide Strategic Alliances, HP ProCurve. “HP ProCurve and Aastra enable customers to successfully address these pressures by providing open standards-based solutions that simplify and improve the efficiency of network applications.”

The new solutions will be launched in November with EMEA region as the initial focus.
