With the global mobile worker population estimated to rise to more than one billion in 2011, companies need to look for solutions that will permit their employees to work effectively from any location.

The advent of mobile broadband solutions means the mobile enterprise arena of interactive business applications is now possible.

ITWeb is hosting a two-day seminar entitled Enterprise Mobility 2010 at Vodaworld, in Midrand, on 21 and 22 April. The event focuses on understanding mobile devices as a core business platform, and highlights the mobility technologies set to become tightly integrated into corporate culture.

With senior representatives from various high-profile companies, the conference will feature talks on the challenges involved in implementing enterprise mobility solutions, as well as presenting case studies focused on the latest developments and strategies.

Dobek Pater, director of African Analysis, will examine the bigger picture behind enterprise mobility, by determining where it's going, what companies are doing about it, and how SA compares with the rest of the world.

Robert Gilmour, MD of RSAWeb, will speak about recognising the importance and potentially transformative impact of enterprise mobility. He will provide reasons for introducing emerging yet potentially disruptive mobile ICT, while discussing the impact and implications of telecommuting.

Sadiq Malik, director of business development at BCT Global, will provide insight into the deployment of a workable framework for enterprise mobility. His talk will focus on designing, deploying, and managing the network architecture for an effective enterprise mobility strategy.

With the economic downturn, there are both pros and cons to implementing a remote workforce. Allan Bjornstad, VP of business development at Tandberg, will shed light on the ramifications of enterprise mobility, especially in a country where the availability and cost of broadband poses a significant constraint to enterprise mobility.

The conference aims to give attendees maximum exposure to the latest issues, trends, and technologies available in enterprise mobility. A wide cross-section of speakers will deliver presentations on dealing with enterprise mobility issues.

This event is suited for heads of department, especially those focused in operations, logistics, and mobility. Chief information officers, chief technical officers, and technical personnel would also benefit from the two-day conference.
