Axiz upbeat about Lenovo partnership

Johannesburg, 10 Mar 2010

Six months into their distribution agreement, leading ICT infrastructure distributor Axiz and the world's fourth-largest PC vendor Lenovo say their partnership is going from strength to strength.

“The Lenovo brand has got off to a great start this year. We started the relationship by focusing on the Corporate Think range of Lenovo products, but Axiz has since expanded the business to incorporate the Idea range of products. We are now very pleased to be able to offer Lenovo's extensive range of netbooks, notebooks, desktops, monitors and workstations to our customers,” says Darren Hengst, Product Manager for Lenovo at Axiz.

The Think range is Lenovo's corporate offering and comprises notebooks (Thinkpads), desktops (Thinkcentres), workstations (Thinkstations) and monitors (Thinkvision). The Idea range is the retail offering comprising notebooks, netbooks and All-In-One desktops. Axiz is also distributing accessories and warranty options for both ranges.

Explaining the success of the partnership, Craig Brunsden, chief marketing officer at Axiz, says: “Lenovo manufactures and markets reliable, high-quality, secure and easy-to-use technology products and services worldwide, while we have a reputation for supporting international brands, developing new opportunities and working as a consultative partner to help them capitalise on emerging trends.”

Hengst anticipates much customer interest as and when Axiz launches new Lenovo technology to the local and African market in the coming year.

“The product that I'm most excited about is the soon-to-be released Y550P notebook. This notebook, which is not only stylishly designed and spec heavy, is aimed at heavyweight gamers and multimedia mavens who need portability, power and speed.
