Businesses embrace SOA

A survey has revealed businesses will embrace service-oriented architecture (SOA) to cut costs, states TechWorld.

The results indicate that IT directors understand how SOA enables businesses to identify and reuse critical services. From the 100 UK-based IT directors surveyed, 83% say they will use SOA to cut costs, and 40% plan to implement SOA governance within the next year.

"Effective enterprise architecture linked to SOA governance ensures the best possible return on new software investments, rather than simply throwing money away on like-for-like replacement software," says Tim Holyoake, lead technologist at Software AG.
