More than two-thirds of organisations anticipate increasing their investment in IT this year, and almost 40% expect to migrate mission-critical software to open source within the next 12 months.
This is according to the latest Accenture study, entitled 'Accelerating the benefits of open source software'.
To position itself for this situation, open source solutions provider Red Hat has revealed that Linux System Dynamics, an open source consulting firm, has become its partner for the southern Africa region.
Linux System Dynamics MD, Sven Lesicnik, says the company welcomes the partnership agreement with Red Hat, adding it will offer consulting, implementation, support and training services. “This will help customers incorporate Red Hat software together with other open source products,” he explains.
Red Hat country manager, Louis Seyffert, comments: “This partnership is significant as we expand our partner ecosystem and more customers turn to open source solutions to take advantage of performance gains and cost savings.”
