Zetta intros cloud-based DR

Enterprise storage service provider Zetta has unveiled a one-step replication option for users of its on-demand enterprise storage, says Computer Technology Review.

Zetta replication is available between the Zetta Santa Clara, California, and Secaucus, New Jersey, data centres.

As many critical customer data sets require geographic data protection, Zetta provides this as a point-and-click option, with instant protection without the time and cost of acquiring and managing replication software, facilities, storage hardware, and networking bandwidth.

Richard Fleischman deploys onQ

QuorumLabs' onQ turnkey business continuity appliance has been selected by Richard Fleischman and Associates (RFA), a technology advisor to more than 400 alternative asset firms representing over $100 billion in assets, reports Earth Times.

The onQ business continuity solution will give RFA immediate access to up-to-date applications and data on all of its servers in the event of a storage, server or entire site failure.

“The hedge fund environment is very demanding, and there's zero margin for error,” said Don Previti, director of business development at RFA.

Innovation Data integrates with IBM offering

Concurrent with the IBM Data Protection Solutions release of direct System z mainframe Ficon access to DS8700 resident Open Systems disc, Innovation Data Processing has unveiled FDRSOS V5.4.74, states the Financial Post.

The company says this is the first disaster recovery and distributed data protection solution to employ this new IBM DS8700 z/OS distributed data backup (zDDB) technology.

“There is a new wave...in disaster recovery and distributed data protection. While increasingly customers find themselves integrating business processing and consolidating their mainframe and Open Systems platforms, 81% of respondents in a recent survey report data/storage growth is their biggest data protection challenge,” said Innovation spokesman and VP, advance technology, Thomas J Meehan.
