Customers connect at SAP World Tour 2010, in Lagos, to discuss power of business solutions

Regional event showcases range of business solutions for small and large enterprises - setting West African companies on the path to long-term, profitable business growth.

Lagos, 26 Jul 2010

SAP customers, partners and representatives are coming together at the regional SAP World Tour 2010, in Lagos, to share with and hear from peers how business solutions from SAP AG are helping both large enterprises and SMEs run better.

The SAP World Tour takes place in more than 80 cities in over 50 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America. This global road show has reached more than 270 000 customers, partners and influencers over the last six years.

In addition to networking with industry and regional peers and partners, and listening to existing customer case studies, participants will leave the event with a clear understanding of how to utilise SAP's range of tailored business solutions to their advantage.

“The West African economy has been growing rapidly, and many local businesses are struggling to keep pace with the increased demand as internal company infrastructures simply aren't there to support it,” explains Noble Ekajeh, Regional Manager of SAP West Africa. “By bringing the World Tour to Lagos, we hope to give Nigerian companies the necessary insights to grow their businesses to the point where they are regional leaders in their industries.”

The event is designed to enable dialogue with influencers, customers and prospects - along with members of the SAP ecosystem and parties interested in partnering with SAP. The day will feature interactive formats, including sessions targeted specifically at small and mid-sized businesses, as well as product-specific breakout sessions. Delegates will learn how SAP's portfolio of solutions can help companies of all sizes implement IT processes that will help their business adapt more quickly to changing market needs, differentiate against tougher competition and execute sustainable growth strategies.

The event features a keynote speech by Ashley Boag, Chief Operating Officer for SAP Africa. Boag will speak about SAP's commitment to developing African businesses to be among the best in the world. In the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to choose from a number of different breakout sessions to further engage in conversations about SAP solutions for small and mid-size enterprises, as well as those for specific industries, including utilities and telecommunications, oil and gas, financial services and the public sector.

“SAP has been operating in Nigeria for over a decade, and we have recently opened an office in Lagos to supplement our existing headquarters in Abuja. This expansion has allowed us to triple the number of our employees. SAP has been closely interacting with customers to understand their concerns, their priorities, and the unique challenges they face in one of Africa's fastest growing regions. This has enabled us to identify solutions that directly address our customers' unique needs, and we look forward to sharing these during the SAP World Tour,” continues Ekajeh. “The event will focus on technologies that customers can adopt at their own pace of innovation, without disruption and for their own industry needs.”

The SAP World Tour offers customers and partners throughout the world a local event similar to SAPPHIRE NOW, the annual international SAP customer conference. Further information on event dates and locations can found at the SAP World Tour event page on sap.com.
