Contract cellphone maker Foxconn International has resumed operations at a mobile phone parts manufacturing facility in India, it said on Monday, sending its shares up more than 5%.

Work has resumed at the factory since Saturday, pushing its shares up 5.3% by 12:46 am. By comparison, the benchmark Hang Seng Index was up 1.3%.

"All our workers who had any health complaints have seen a doctor, and the local authorities have also given us the go-ahead to resume operations," said Vincent Tong, senior director at Foxconn International.

Foxconn, a subsidiary of Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision, had suspended operations at its facility in the Kancheepuram district in Tamil Nadu, near Chennai, after workers complained of "giddiness and nausea" on 23 July.
