Pay-TV service provider MultiChoice has announced that Nolo Letele will step down as CEO to take up the position of executive chairperson of the MultiChoice SA Holdings Board.

He will be replaced by SuperSport CEO Imtiaz Patel.

Current chairman Mandla Langa is stepping down from the board, but will take up the role of senior advisor to the MultiChoice SA Group, notes the company.

Also, in accordance with corporate governance requirements, Khulu Sibiya, a current director, will be appointed as lead director on the Board.

The leadership shake-up will come into effect on 1 October. SuperSport says Patel will continue to oversee its daily operations, until a successor is confirmed.

His new position will include the overseeing of SuperSport's business, with the new CEO of SuperSport reporting to him.
