Dimension Data Microsoft Solutions sets the standard with an exemplary performance at the recent Microsoft Partner Awards 2010.

Sun City, 15 Sep 2010

Dimension Data proved that it is a force to be reckoned with at this year's Microsoft Partner Awards, where it was a finalist in 11 categories. By the end of the event, Africa's leading systems integrator claimed top spot in five key areas, including partner of the year in the categories of Desktop Platform, Large Account Reseller, Systems Management, Services, and Unified Communications.

The Microsoft Partner Summit is one of the highlights of the Microsoft Partner calendar and is the largest Microsoft Partner community conference held on the African continent. This year's event was hosted at Sun City from 1 to 3 September, and proved the ideal platform for participating partners to network with a vast number of industry professionals in an environment geared for knowledge sharing and thought-provoking dialogue.

The event culminated in the prestigious and much anticipated Annual Partner Network Awards Dinner, celebrating outstanding achievements within the partner community. The awards span 30 very specific categories, testament to the broad range of specialist skills and activities currently at play in the marketplace.

This year the nomination process was more demanding than ever before, and required each nominee to exhibit a range of competencies in their category of choice, including an ability to generate new business, drive service delivery, grow the business, display innovation, and finally, to enable people. The judging process takes several weeks to complete, and includes two elimination rounds and intensive panel interviews with each finalist before the final rankings are determined.

The company's honour roll includes a top-three position in each of the following categories: Corporate Social Investment Partner, Customer Experience Partner, Licensing Solutions Partner, Security and Identity Solutions Partner, Server Platform Partner and Winning Customers Partner. Dimension Data went on to win the following categories based on its performance during the 2010 fiscal year:

* Services Partner of the Year, which in light of Dimension Data's services focus and commitment, is an extremely important win for the team.
* Unified Communications Partner of the Year, which also represents one of the company's key focus areas. Dimension Data has shown firm commitment to this space and will be actively involved in the launch of Communications Server “14” later this year.
* Desktop Platform Partner of the Year - Windows 7 is a key priority for many IT decision-makers and this award shows Dimension Data's support and expertise in this area.
* Systems Management Partner of the Year, proving that the investment in Microsoft Systems Management resources is paying off.
* Large Account Reseller of the Year has been achieved for the fifth consecutive year, demonstrating Dimension Data's ongoing commitment to its clients and Microsoft's appreciation of the company's approach.

“The awards we won are perfectly aligned to where we get the majority of our revenue coming from over the next 12 months. It is great to see our efforts being recognised in these areas. We now need to capitalise on the effort and our partnership with Microsoft to grow our business,” says Bradley Bunch, General Manager of Dimension Data Microsoft Solutions.

The South African Awards follow hot on the heels of the Australian Partner of the Year Awards, which saw the Microsoft Solutions team in Australia clinch Enterprise Partner of the Year 2010, and Dimension Data Learning Solutions won CPLS (Certified Partners for Learning Solutions) Partner of the Year 2010.

Based on the extreme commitment and capability offered by the Dimension Data and Microsoft combination, the winning streak looks set to continue.
