Qliktech tops large BI brands

QlikTech, a global business intelligence (BI) provider, has received top placements in this year's Business Application Research Centre BI survey, says IBN Live.

The company ranked first in customer loyalty, query performance with the least complaints, and inclination to purchase more licences, continuing to outpace larger rivals SAP, Oracle and IBM, a company release said.

"Its gratifying to see that our disruptive business model of proving our value as we move through an organisation is paying off in terms of customer loyalty, as intended,” said Lars Bjork, CEO of QlikTech.

JasperSoft, Exo collaborate on BI

BI has gone social with the collaboration of open source companies JasperSoft and Exo, writes CMS Wire.

The companies have teamed up to extend JasperSoft's BI applications with Exo's social and collaboration capabilities, including workspaces and activity streams. This integration can be done for an intranet or included as a widget in a dashboard but support for OpenSocial is required.

The Exo platform product is a Java-based enterprise content management, collaboration, social and portal tool architected on the GateIn portal framework. Jaspersoft is an open source BI vendor, offering several different products including: JasperServer, Jasper Analysis and JasperETL.

BI must focus on tablets

A Datamation report shows companies may need to develop a strategy for tablet users who want to access BI system data and analytics tools, states e-CRM.

According to a study by Dresner Advisory Services, tablets offer important capabilities to road warriors due to the bigger screen, touch keyboard and other features.

The ability for two people to look at the same data on the same device and start poking the touch-screen to drill down for detailed insights will enhance collaboration in restaurant meetings and other out-of-the-office settings.
