McAfee's new EMEA head in SA

Johannesburg, 15 Oct 2010

Gert-Jan Schenk, the newly-appointed president of McAfee EMEA, will visit SA this month to brief customers and channel partners on the latest security threats and developments within the McAfee fold.

Schenk and a delegation of EMEA executives will hold separate meetings with customers and channel partners in Johannesburg on 3 November.

Speaking ahead of the visit, Toralv Dirro, Avert Labs Security Strategist for McAfee EMEA, said 2010 has seen some of the most significant cyber attacks to date, adding that McAfee's research has found that cyber criminals have increasingly sophisticated infrastructure and resources at their disposal.

Raj Samani, VP and CTO for McAfee's EMEA region, added that challenges such as consumerisation of technology, virtualisation, and the cloud were changing the approach companies need to take to combat information security threats.

McAfee will deliver its latest global security research at a free morning forum for top-level customers and an afternoon session for channel partners.
