Capgemini pens $63m PM contract

French IT services group Capgemini got a $63 million three-year contract to provide support to smart metres for Canada's utility BC Hydro in British Columbia, writes Automated Trader.

The Smart Metering Programme, including the installation of new digital metres, is a key first step in delivering a modern electricity grid for the benefit of BC Hydro customers.

Under the agreement, Capgemini will provide system integration and project management services, helping to design and deliver a program that will see the replacement of more than 1.8 million meters in BC with digital smart meters, along with information technology and telecommunications infrastructure to enable two-way communications between BC Hydro and its customers.

NFI selects Project Insight

Project Insight, project management software provider, says it has been selected by NFI to help support the company's growth and manage projects more efficiently, says Supply Chain Market.

NFI is a fully integrated supply chain solutions provider that offers logistics, distribution and supply chain management services across the US.

NFI's IT department is responsible for a wide variety of projects for external customers, supporting warehouse or transportation services. Prior to Project Insight, they relied on a combination of spreadsheets and homegrown databases.

Software brings navigational changes

Project Manager Online has unveiled its latest release of ProjectManager.com, its popular Web-based project management software tools and task management software, according to PR-USA.net.

This latest release will make the user experience faster and more enjoyable by incorporating some navigational changes based on feedback from the ProjectManager.com user community.

"We found out, based on user feedback, that when users moved around within multiple projects, they often wanted to be viewing the same information in each project," states Jason Westland, president and CEO of Project Manager Online.
