Med-e-Mass, a specialist Xerox VAR for Bytes Document Solutions and a member of the JSE-listed Altron Group, has met with considerable success supplying Xerox Replacement Cartridges (XRCs) for HP printers to its market of more than 9 000 customers that include medical practitioners, hospitals, specialists, administrative bureaus, dental, and auxiliary health services businesses.
The replacement cartridges are OEM quality, and offer the same yield and reliability but cost considerably less than the HP equivalent.
“As an example, a replacement cartridge from one of the large retailers, for an entry-level HP 1010 printer, costs between R899 and R999, yet we provide it to our customers, delivered free of charge with orders of two or more, for R699,” says Jayesh Reddy, GM at Med-e-Mass. “We're saving our customers thousands of rand every month because so many of them have the smaller HP printers on their desks.”
Xerox promises savings of 20% to 40% across the range, and offers the Xerox Total Performance Warranty with the cartridges that promises replacement of failed cartridges and repair or replacement of damaged printers.
“The replacement cartridges have other benefits too,” says Peter Vieira, divisional manager for Xerox channels, a division at Bytes Document Solutions. “They re-use plastic hulks that still have productive life, so it's more cost-effective and better for the environment. Up to 90% of the cartridges are re-used, but the remaining 10% of crucial components are replaced with top-quality Xerox-approved components.”
