Software AG appoints new director

Software AG SA has appointed Ike Kunene as its executive director of corporate affairs and of government relations

His appointment includes a position on the local board of directors.

Kunene will be responsible for government relations, the management and leadership of the company's BEE and transformation policies, and its corporate social investment programme, says Emma Murray, VP sales for the South African subsidiary.

“With an excellent track record in his role as director sales: public sector, Ike is well positioned to take us forward with our stated policies and programmes in these strategic and important areas.

“He has shown himself to be a true leader with great potential. I am confident he is the right man for the job, and wish him every success in his new role.”

Government liaison

Kunene has over 13 years' experience in developing and executing new business development and sales strategies, says the company.

It adds that he has extensive experience in telecommunications, the public sector and IT.

“His key strengths lie in government liaison, new business development, sales strategy formulation and implementation, channel management, people management and budget management.”

Kunene has a Diploma in Business Studies from the Bulawayo Polytechnic College, University of Cambridge A levels, Advanced Level, and is currently preparing his final thesis to complete his two-year MBA course at the University of Hull, in the UK.
