Businesses marvel as FOXit shows the agile side of technology

Johannesburg, 22 Nov 2011

FOXit, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and PPM (project and portfolio management) specialist, recently joined industry partners in a demonstration of new technologies developed to improve user experience with enhanced inter-device and inter-system connectivity.

The companies jointly introduced a range of out-of-the-box solutions that have been brought out to help clients keep up with progressive technology trends, including ubiquitous connectivity, cloud computing, social networking and consumerisation of technology.

PPM, workflow and enterprise project management (EPM) in the modern workplace is driven by the quest for 'anytime, anywhere' connectivity, service and support in the cloud, one-touch access and consolidation of information, among others.

The technology on display included METROit, PIVOTit, PwC Exordia X-Connect and X-Link, as well as Nintex SharePoint Workflow for Project Server 2010 and Forms 2010.

“Decision-makers are aware of the role that speed, mobility and reliable connectivity play in making project and portfolio management more efficient,” says Aldo van Tonder, CEO, FOXit. “The aim of this event was to show a new side of technology, to show technology in a different light. We achieved this goal.”

METROit is an embedded application and new user interface with a single view that facilitates real-time, one-touch consolidation between all aspects of project management. This includes approvals, documents, timesheets, risks and issues.

PIVOTit is a data virtualisation tool that provides a graphical view of data collections. Thousands of items can be visualised simultaneously, showing both relations and patterns in the data.

PwC Exordia X-Connect is the company's public cloud computing suite. The offering covers platform and software as services that are hosted in two local data centres. PwC Exordia also presented its X-Link solution, which brings Microsoft Lync 2010 to the client as a cloud offering.

The Ninetex SharePoint Workflow for Project Server 2010 combines Nintex Workflow with the Microsoft Project Server 2010 platform.

This offering empowers project and portfolio managers with a Web-based drag-and-drop designer, enhanced workflow capabilities, and deep integration across SharePoint, Project Server and external systems.

FOXit used the event to showcase Syntergy Replicator for SharePoint, technology that facilitates bi-directional replication, check-in/check-out and the synchronisation of document libraries.

“The technologies now available to the market are practical and powerful. They are tomorrow's tools of communication that promote accessibility and efficiency.

User experience is not just about aesthetic quality, it is about the practicality in application. We are very excited about the impact that mobility will have within the project management arena and the benefits to users,” Van Tonder added.
