Michelle Beetar will head up credit management solutions company Experian's South African operations from this month.

Beetar succeeds Jim Fick, who will take on an executive role at Experian Global.

Experian provides data and analytical tools to clients in more than 80 countries to aid businesses in managing credit risk, prevent fraud, target marketing offers and automate decision-making. Experian also helps individuals to check their credit report and credit score, and protect against identity theft.

Experian is listed on the London Stock Exchange. In the year to March, it turned over $4.2 billion.

“Beetar will be responsible for leading the operational management and ensuring the company strongly extends its sustainable growth in the region,” says Fick.

Beetar joined Experian as a director in May, as part of the company's bid to strengthen the local team and support the group's global strategy for growth, says a statement issued by the company yesterday.

Before joining Experian SA, Beetar was country manager for computer software firm Novell. She previously held senior positions at Oracle and MWeb.
