SAP HANA platform enhances SMEs' business reporting tools, experience

Johannesburg, 07 Mar 2012

SAP is proud to announce two new offerings that will deliver the benefits of the SAP HANA platform to small businesses and midsize enterprises (SMEs) globally, including the African market.

“This means that SME companies, just as other larger corporations, will now be able to leverage powerful real-time in-memory technology with analytics powered by SAP HANA specifically designed for the SAP Business One market through the SAP HANA platform and the SAP Business Objects Edge Edition for mid-sized companies,” said Pankaj Pema, Head of Business One at SAP Africa.

Most organisations today face the same challenges irrespective of size. In today's highly competitive business climate, immediate access to and analysis of all operational data ultimately determines the success of an organisation. “Our customers demand insight into business operations as they happen, in order to be able to react quickly to changing market conditions.

“Gone are the days where basic enterprise resource planning solutions (ERP) are sufficient to assist organisations to run better. ERP solutions remains vital for SMEs to continue deploying best practice business processes and management solutions; however, organisations are constantly requesting assistance for the acquisition of instant data to make proactive decisions, irrespective of the how and where their information reside,” adds Pema.

An innovative technology such as the SAP HANA platform is revolutionising decision-making by dramatically increasing the speed of existing processes, thus allowing the access of large amounts of data faster, with richer functionally for the user.
