Dell expands desktop virtualisation portfolio

Computer maker Dell has introduced two new solutions for alleviating the burdens associated with implementing desktop virtualisation: DVS Simplified Appliance and DVS Enterprise, Virtualisation Review writes.

Dell is also completing development and delivery of a desktop as a service solution, called DVS Simplified Desktop, for delivery later this year.

Daily Disruptions says, with virtual desktop initiatives, organisations in such diverse sectors as education, healthcare and finance benefit from advanced security, enhanced mobility and streamlined IT management so they can focus on their core business objectives.

DVS Simplified Appliance is an easy, affordable, all-in-one desktop virtualisation appliance for organisations with less-complicated IT environments.

DVS Enterprise is for large-scale rollouts and for more demanding IT environments. It integrates technology from VMware and Citrix, Market Watch notes.

“Our portfolio of DVS solutions help organisations of all sizes quickly and easily take advantage of the many benefits of deploying virtual desktop initiatives,” said Steve Lalla, VP and GM of Dell's mobility solutions group.
