Sony hardware streams TV to PS3, Vita

Electronics giant, Sony is preparing to roll out a media storage device with a built-in 500GB hard disk drive, called Nasne, Market Watch reports.

By connecting Nasne to their home network, users can watch and record digital terrestrial and satellite broadcast through dedicated applications for PS3 and Vaio TV.

Nasne includes digital terrestrial and satellite broadcast tuners for recording TV broadcasts, GameTrailers.com states.

Videos and movies can be played back on Sony hardware, through the Torne software application for PS3 and Vita.

Torne, which has been available for the PS3 since early 2010, was Sony's PS3 solution for recording movies and television via a tuner.

Four Nasne units can be connected to a PS3 and users will be able to simultaneously record up to four television programmes, Examiner.com says.

PS Vita users will be able to watch, record and store digital and satellite broadcasts through Torne within the same home network via a WiFi connection. Sony's Nasne will be released in Japan on 19 July.
