Network Platforms, Cyberoam ink distribution deal

Johannesburg, 22 Aug 2012

Network Platforms, a network infrastructure management solutions and services company, has secured the sub-distribution rights for Cyberoam's unified threat management (UTM) product.

“We have been searching some time for a UTM product that has all the functionality, pricing and stability that Cyberoam's products have to offer,” says Bradley Love, MD of Network Platforms. “And, when we benchmarked it against several of its competitors, it won hands down as a result of the functionality it offered, its pricing and the user-friendly interface it offers.

“One of the other capabilities that stood out for us was the reporting on the appliance, which can either integrate with or run independently of Active Directory,” Love adds. “User levels can be created so clients can be supplied with a username and password to access the reporting and can view what Web sites users are visiting.”

Cyberoam UTM, the company claims, offers network security, network connectivity, continuous availability and secure remote access with controlled network access to road warriors, telecommuters, partners and customers alike.

It adds that the solution offers security and high flexibility with protection against blended threats, malware, Trojans, DoS, DDoS, IP spoofing attacks, spam, intrusions and data leakage.

Cyberoam country manager for SA Lynton Lubbe, commenting on the partnership with Network Platforms, said: “Partners like First Distributor and Network Platforms bring individual strengths, experience and expertise to the table.

“Together, they form a potent force that can make much deeper inroads into the market and transform Cyberoam into a number one security solution. We will leverage this strong triumvirate to realise exponential growth of Cyberoam in the market.”

He adds that Cyberoam will go all out to enable partners to cater to customer needs and ensure that the specific security and business objectives of their customers are met.

“Cyberoam support and training programmes are strategically designed to transform and align partner expertise into responsive customer support in a highly differentiated, competitive market.”
