Alienware brings online shopping experience to South Africa

Online store brings options to South African Alienware consumers.

Johannesburg, 05 Oct 2012

Alienware made its South African debut just two years ago and has been positively received by the country's gamers. However, as Alienware was only available through select retailers and distributors, many gamers felt their choices were limited in terms of which Alienware units they could purchase. They will be pleased to know that, at rAge this year, Alienware is kicking off with a brand new online store specifically catering for the South African market - www.alienware.co.za.

According to Gavin Slevin, Dell South Africa and developing countries retail manager: "At Dell, we listen to customers, value their feedback, and adapt our approach based on these needs. Meeting our customers' needs has always been Dell's priority - since its inception in 1984. The feedback from customers suggested a need for more options and variety of the Alienware brand available in South Africa, so that users can select the unit that meets both their needs and their pockets. Therefore, I am proud to announce the launch of www.alienware.co.za."

On the Alienware site, customers will have full visibility of the Alienware range. Products available on the site include the Alienware mobile range of products such as the Alienware M14x, M17x and M18x. All three of these chassis are available in different specifications. The Alienware headsets, mouse and keyboard are also available on the site to complete the Alienware experience.

Also on offer is the Alienware X51. This desktop is available at entry level, mid-range and top end, providing discerning gamers with the choices they crave. The Alienware X51 is 34.3cm at its highest point at the front, and less than 10cm wide. It is lightweight, making it perfect for the gamer on the go.

"All products purchased on the Web site come with the same warrantee as those purchased in retail. This means they will receive Dell's three-year, next business day warrantee. Unless otherwise specified on the Web site, you can expect delivery within 72 hours of purchase anywhere in the country. If the product is not in stock, it will be delivered in approximately three weeks," added Slevin.

"There is an Alienware for all gamers and tech geeks on www.alienware.co.za, with prices from R10 999 for the Alienware X51, to R80 000 for the Alienware M18x designed for the avid, hardcore consumer for whom nothing but the absolute best will suffice," concludes Slevin.
