Mint Management Technologies wins two prestigious Microsoft Partner of the Year 2012 awards

Johannesburg, 06 Nov 2012

Mint Management Technologies, "Mint", once again secures its place among Microsoft's top performing partners by winning the Mobility Solutions as well as the Citizenship/Corporate Social Investment Partner of the Year at Microsoft's gala awards event, held inJohannesburg, on 1 November 2012.

Microsoft awards its top achievers annually by recognising those partners which have excelled in delivering various Microsoft solutions over their last fiscal year. The event, attended by the "cream of the crop" of Microsoft partners, is the culmination of several weeks of evaluation, initial scoring, elimination rounds and panel interviews of those partners which tendered submissions in each award category.

"Mint is exceptionally proud to have won not only one award, but two awards from a very strong competitor field," grinned an ecstatic Carel du Toit, Mint's Managing Director, who was called upon to accept the Mobility award. Mint's second award was accepted by Yvonne Dias, Mint's Shared Service Director. "These awards are true testimony that Mint lives by our values, which, among others, include our drive to be 'first in community' and our 'people first' philosophy, and we extend a huge thank you to everyone involved in both of these areas of our business, including our employees, our partners, our customers and all other stakeholders," continued Du Toit.

"To win the Mobility award for a second time is a truly remarkable feat in this very competitive sector. Mint's Mobility offerings combine the technologies of Microsoft's Dynamics CRM, .NET & SQL Server 2008 R2, with mobile adaptors specifically designed for Microsoft's Dynamics CRM and various custom developed back-end solutions and industry data feeds that allows us to deploy world-class, tailored solutions for our customers, which run on most hardware ranging from desktop and laptop PCs, tablet-type devices, including iPad, iPhone, Android Phone and Tablets, Windows 6.5, 7.5 and soon on Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8," said Du Toit.

"Mint's core philosophy of partnering with our customers to build a road-map to help them differentiate themselves from their competitors, drive growth, revenue and profit and improve their service offering, coupled with Mint's combination of services, mobility and consulting skills, adds genuine value to our customers," added Francois Pienaar, Mint's Services Director. "In this way, we assist our clients to improve their customer relationship management, content and information management, and finally enable their business to operate in a completely mobile and real-time manner," said Pienaar.

Mint's business philosophy, together with its more than 13 years' mobility expertise, undoubtedly caught the judge's eye, as these vital elements ensured that Mint excelled in the various elements comprising the awards judging criteria, which included building new customers, the ability to grow the business, capacity for innovation and enabling people. "We are not done yet," added Du Toit. "Mint continues to focus on our Mobility entity and has some very exciting developments on the horizon in the very near future."

The evening's celebrations continued for Mint when they were pronounced the winner of the Citizenship/Corporate Social Investment Partner of the Year for 2012. Mint established its Mint.Unity Community initiative just two short years ago, and through the collaborative efforts of each employee, now supports three main benefactors, namely: The Strathyre Girl's Home, The Johannesburg Children's Home and the Kensington Ridge Primary School, all of whom are in close proximity to Mint's offices in Bruma, Johannesburg. "Mint.Unity is not about throwing money at the challenge, but is about giving of our time to make a difference in the lives of others," said Yvonne Dias, Mint's Shared Services Director.

Mint's employees dedicate their time once a quarter to participate in 'hands-on' initiatives at the various benefactors to uplift or upgrade the facilities, which includes providing IT services, maintenance of equipment, repairs and painting of sports or playground equipment, painting of classrooms and sanding and varnishing of desks, to name but a few of the ongoing initiatives. Funds are raised through the various fundraising initiatives driven by Mint's employees, donations and Mint's contribution of a percentage of its monthly profit to the Mint.Unity coffers.

Mint has also embarked on a Graduate Internship Programme in 2011 to employ a handful of talented young graduates on an annual basis, to give them much needed training, work experience and mentoring needed to grow them into valued IT resources. "By exposing these talented grads to the ICT sector, we are not only grooming the youth for tomorrow, but are exposing them to our community initiatives so that one day they can pass this legacy on to their families and colleagues," added Dias.

Mint's efforts don't end here as they are also co-sponsors of the M-Net Cares "drive for the cause" campaign, in association with Liberty Medical Scheme. "Through our relationship with Cloud9Golf, we got involved as co-sponsors of this amazing campaign to support the Naledi Children's Literacy Project and the Pink Drive for the prevention and early detection of breast cancer, which ties in with our Community First Value" said Penny de Sousa, Marketing Manager at Mint. "By combining all of the Mint and Mint.Unity efforts, we are able to provide a 360-degree service to the community at large, starting at grass-roots level at primary school and through the children's homes, contributing to literacy and health education, and driving this through to the workplace through our Interns. We truly believe in our mission maxim of 'one action, one minute, one thought, one deed can make one massive difference'," said De Sousa.

Mint certainly has a lot to be celebrating, but Du Toit is mindful that without the continued support of his staff, customers, partners and stakeholders alike, winning these two awards would not have been possible. "We are humbled by our success and we will continue to strive to be the best in what we do, both in business and in our community initiatives, and we thank everyone involved at all levels," said Du Toit, in closing.
