Apple's latest generation iPad is now available through FNB.

First National Bank's (FNB's) discounted device deal has been bolstered with the addition of Apple's fourth-generation iPad.

The "big four" bank yesterday announced it would add Apple's latest iPad with 9.7-inch Retina display, features iSight and FaceTime, and the new A6X chip to its pool of smart devices available to its customers at up to 35% discount, payable over 24 months.

The latest Apple tablet is currently available from FNB, together with other Apple products, including second and third generation iPads, the iPhone 4S and MacBooks.

Kartik Mistry, head of smart devices for FNB Core Banking Solutions, says the offering of the latest generation Apple products is opportunely-timed, with the festive season upon us.

Mistry notes that the bank's smart device offering has seen unflagging uptake and interest, with over 120 000 devices being sold since the promotion's launch in late 2011.

"The offer has changed the ethos of banking by encouraging customers to switch to digital banking. Our drive to add new devices has been welcomed by many, and we will continue to add the latest devices to our range."

The iPad with Retina display is available from R265 per month. The devices will be available to new and existing qualifying FNB cheque account and credit card clients, and can be ordered by SMSing "FNB" to 32812, or online at www.fnb.co.za.

FNB advises that, given "high demand during the festive season", delivery before 25 December cannot be guaranteed.
