MarketLive acquires top talent

MarketLive, an e-commerce solution for retailers, today announced the addition of two seasoned marketing executives, and unveiled plans to move the company's worldwide headquarters to a new Silicon Valley facility, according to Market Wire.

Tiffany Riley has been appointed as senior VP of marketing, and Angela Bandlow joins MarketLive as VP of product management.

Both bring significant experience in driving growth and market expansion for enterprise software companies. These key executives will fundamentally shape MarketLive market development, branding and product strategies.

Shoppers want info

Nearly one-third (30%) of supermarket shoppers want to access information via a bar code reader that sits on their trolley and provides specific product information on nutrition, the environment and ethical sourcing, says Retail Solutions Online.

This is one of the findings of a research study carried out by international food and grocery expert IGD, on behalf of EDS, the global technology services company.

The project was undertaken to understand how supermarket shoppers interact with information, and how they want to access this data.

Throttleman implements RFID

Throttleman has integrated RFID technology into its supply chain. The technology allows improved speed in delivering Throttleman's fashions to retail centres, states Mobic.

Throttleman contracted with systems integrator Creativesystems to define and support an RFID solution that would improve the overall speed and efficiency of its supply chain. Creativesystems partnered with Tagsys, based on the 99.9% read-rate performance of Tagsys' UHF tunnels.

Creativesystems also partnered with Sybase (for middleware) and Paxar (for labels). Tagged clothes are shipped from the manufacturer to the distribution centre, where the Tagsys UHF tunnel scans and reads the content of each box in a few seconds.
