Novell announced a range of Enterprise Mobility Applications at BrainShare 2013, held in Salt Lake City, Utah. These mobile apps extend traditional enterprise services such as file sharing and management, printing, and device management to mobile platforms for devices running iOS, Android, Windows Mobile and BlackBerry.
Novell Filr is essentially Dropbox for the enterprise. It now allows extensive security around the sharing, storing and access to files across all the devices an individual may own. You have access to your documents anywhere and on any device, and you can share these files securely with colleagues or even people outside of your organisation.
Novell iPrint allows you to print documents directly from your mobile device to printers on your enterprise network. This means you do not need to e-mail a document to someone with access to the printer, but allows you to send the print job directly from your device to the printer.
Novell ZENworks Mobile Management allows you to manage mobile devices that will store information that belongs to the enterprise. ZENworks Mobile Management allows you to apply company security policies to devices, destroy data on devices, push applications, and even locate devices. Different policies can be applied to privately-owned devices or company-issued devices.
Novell is clearly taking a lead in mobility solutions for the enterprise. Whether you run Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange or Novell eDirectory and GroupWise, you can add these mobility solutions to take control over any mobile device in your environment.
Novell enables you today to solve your BYOD headaches.
