Fortinet takes award for unified threat management market leadership

Frost & Sullivan recognises Fortinet with "Market Share Leadership Award, Unified Threat Management, North America, 2013".

Sunnyvale, California, 23 Apr 2013

Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT) - a world leader in high-performance network security - today announced that it received the "Market Share Leadership Award, Unified Threat Management, North America" for 2013 by Frost & Sullivan, a leading global industry analyst organisation.

The Frost & Sullivan Award for Market Share Leadership is presented to the company that demonstrates excellence in capturing the highest market share within its industry. This award recognises the company's leadership position within the unified threat management (UTM) market.

"Unified threat management appliances protect thousands of business networks around the world, by integrating firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention, application control, Web filtering, anti-virus and granular user controls," said John Maddison, VP of Marketing at Fortinet. "Fortinet leads this market because no other vendor delivers as fast and secure of a UTM solution."

Frost & Sullivan points out that because UTMs integrate security technologies, they provide businesses with operational efficiencies, too. Fortinet concurs, as many customers cite superior TCO, single pane of glass management and end-to-end wired and wireless policy enforcement as key reasons for adopting its FortiGate appliances.

"Fortinet earned 20.5% of the UTM market in 2012, leading the UTM market for the fifth consecutive year that Frost & Sullivan has tracked this market," said Chris Rodriguez, Senior Industry Analyst, Frost & Sullivan. "This success is the result of an aggressive product development strategy and strategic business partnerships driven by a singular focus on customer needs. With many new products and features on the company's roadmap, Fortinet is well positioned to grow its share of the market further in 2013."

FortiGate - Fast and secure protection for any sized network

FortiGate appliances provide enterprise-class protection against network, content and application-level threats. From the FortiGate-20 series for small offices, to the FortiGate-5000 series for very large enterprises, service providers and carriers, Fortinet offers UTM models for any deployment environment.

Dynamic updates from the FortiGuard Labs global threat research team ensure that networks, applications and data are protected against the latest threats. Additionally, FortiGate security appliances incorporate sophisticated networking features, such as high availability (active/active, active/passive) for maximum network uptime, and virtual domain (VDOM) capabilities to separate various networks requiring different security policies.
