Bytes Document Solutions (BDS), Africa's leading document management technology and services company, and the largest Xerox distributor in the world, has announced that its Xerox dealership in the Southern Cape, known as Southern Cape Copiers (SCC), has been acquired by Evan Wells and Brent Farndon of Digicopiers, Port Elizabeth.

Wells, a respected business leader in the Southern Cape region and a key stakeholder of Digicopiers, established the operation in George, southernCapemore than 18 years ago. In 2000, Wells sold the business, relocated to Port Elizabeth and started Digicopiers.

Digicopiers has since become a highly reputable supplier of cost-effective, high-quality business solutions across the Port Elizabeth and Eastern Cape region.

Under its new ownership, SCC will continue to be the exclusive partner of Xerox solutions in this region. The business will primarily be managed by Brent Farndon, who has 13 years' experience in end-to-end document management and business integration solutions.

"The Southern Cape is the commercial hub of the garden route," says Farndon. "The demand for cost-effective office automation and document solutions services has increased as businesses in the region have flourished. This new partnership agreement with Bytes Document Solutions will not only better enable us to meet the considerable need, but is also expected to strengthen our market share in the area. I am very excited about this relationship and customer service levels across the region are high on my agenda."

BDS's longstanding relationship with Wells and Digicopiers has been a catalyst in this renewed association. "We are happy to be expanding our business relationship with an organisation like Digicopiers, which has such a solid track record," says Johan Basson, CEO of BDS. "Brent Farndon and Evan Wells have expertise in IT, software, high-volume production and innovative business solutions. The company's strong customer focus, coupled with sound technical expertise and capabilities to manage customer requirements, positions them optimally to deliver to this region.

"From a print and business solutions perspective, SCC has the right mix of technology capabilities, a dedicated local infrastructure in George, experienced personnel, knowledge of the market, understanding of client needs and a passion for the industry," notes Basson.

"We are looking forward to enhancing customer value through this alliance with SCC in the Southern Cape region"
