Neotel launches comprehensive integrated business video conferencing solution

Johannesburg, 15 Aug 2013

Neotel today announces the launch of NeoConference Video, the most comprehensive integrated video conferencing solution offering available, delivering a high-quality, high-definition video experience to a wide range of different types of users.

The NeoConference Video services builds on NeoPresence, Neotel's immersive telepresence solution. The new service provides an end-to-end integrated business video solution, from desktop and tablets, to multi-purpose video conferencing rooms and telepresence. It's video conferencing desktop application, JamVee, offered in partnership with parent company Tata Communications, is available across multiple platforms, including mobile phones, tablets and laptops, and can be used for bridging multiple video conferencing users on demand.

The solution provides for bridging across multiple devices and multiple access methods on both a local and an international scale. It provides access to Global Meeting Exchange, an ecosystem of video conferencing and telepresence endpoints in Africa and around the world, making it easy for businesses, their partners and individual end-users to collaborate across the world, using the best-suited access method and video platform. The Global Meeting Exchange allows seamless access to 47 public telepresence rooms around the world, as well as almost any other private video conferencing and telepresence room.

Commenting on the launch of NeoConference Video, Abid Qadiri, Chief of Business Solutions and Excellence at Neotel, says: "NeoConference Video allows customers to connect seamlessly, not only locally, but also internationally, thereby enabling collaboration, increased productivity and rapid decision-making across continents and time zones. By removing complicated set-up or connection procedures, NeoConference Video brings simplicity to collaboration and communication. With the local market for enterprise video conferencing equipment and services estimated at R1 billion, we are excited about the potential of NeoConference Video services in this growing market. With the launch of NeoConference Video, Neotel has brought to market the most comprehensive and integrated business video solution available that addresses the requirements of users across different market segments."

NeoConference Video is a managed service, including both hardware and software, allowing customers to avoid the technical barriers that prevent the use of video conferencing in organisations.

"Neotel aims to reduce the technology burden by managing the entire solution end-to-end, and taking care of interoperability issues, while leveraging Neotel's converged network infrastructure and Tier 1 IP backbone to ensure reliability and quality of the underlying transport medium locally and globally through its majority shareholder Tata Communications' global network," Qadiri concludes.
