First National Bank today unveiled a new tablet app for commercial clients.

First National Bank (FNB) Commercial and RMB Corporate Bank today launched the new FNB banking tablet app.

The new platform will enable companies and corporate clients to securely manage their business' financial affairs anytime and from anywhere in the world, says the bank in a statement.

According to Mike Vacy-Lyle, CEO of FNB commercial banking, the introduction of the app means commercial banking clients can access all the banking services without having to go into a branch or be in front of a traditional computer.

"Building on the success of the FNB Online banking enterprise platform, which offers sophisticated online banking solutions to suit the complex needs of commercial and corporate clients, the latest innovation offers security, convenience and accessibility by enabling clients to make payments, manage their online banking profiles and transfer funds in a cost-effective manner," says FNB.

The statement notes the new app is seen as a milestone in FNB's multi-channel strategy.

To access the new service, clients need to download the FNB tablet app from the app store or Google Play store, and then link their device to their online banking enterprise profile.

The FNB tablet app comes with features that permit dual authorisation and allows clients to make transfers to recipients who will be able to withdraw the funds without the need of a bank account, using eWallet Pro.

There are more than 40 000 businesses currently using the online banking enterprise that will be able to get access via a tablet once the app is downloaded and their devices linked.
