Neotel unveils new wireless broadband platform for SMEs

Johannesburg, 22 Nov 2013

In a bid to address broadband infrastructure challenges for small, medium, micro enterprises (SMEs) in South Africa, Neotel announced the launch of NeoBroadband Omni - a fast, reliable and affordable wireless broadband service that is available with both capped and uncapped options.

Abid Qadiri, Chief of Business Solutions and Excellence at Neotel, says NeoBroadband Omni has been specifically developed and packaged to extend the availability and reach of Neotel's quality and reliable broadband services to SMEs based in smaller towns across South Africa.

Bloemfontein is the first town identified for the launch of NeoBroadband Omni, due to its significantly high demand for broadband access and infrastructure.

"We are proud to be launching a high speed, low cost broadband service that will deliver quality end-user experience and consistent service to enable SMEs to do business more efficiently. NeoBroadband Omni targets destinations where businesses are underserved or unserved for their needs," adds Qadiri.

NeoBroadband Omni is a compelling value for business as it is a reliable, low cost broadband service that leverages Neotel's extensive fibre backbone and IP leadership.

He explains that research has shown there is a direct correlation between broadband penetration and the business success of SMEs and the increase in the GDP of the region. This has a serious effect on the economic prosperity of a country. "For this reason, the launch of the NeoBroadband Omni is significant. We are without a doubt assisting SMEs to conduct business in a manner that benefits the economic development of South Africa," adds Qadiri.

NeoBroadband Omni leverages globally acclaimed high-end wireless networking solution. The wireless broadband network will be strategically positioned at base stations around the Bloemfontein CBD to ensure access for all businesses.

NeoBroadband Omni will be launched in several smaller towns across South Africa in the next 12 to 18 months.
