2014 International CES - ZTE and Analogix Semiconductor are demonstrating the industry's first 4K-capable smartphone under ZTE's premium Nubia brand during this week's 2014 International CES show, in Las Vegas. The Nubia 4K-capable smartphone features a built-in SlimPort interface solution from Analogix Semiconductor, which allows it to display theatre-quality movies, sports, presentations and other content on external displays with up to 4K resolution.

The Nubia smartphone features Nubia's NeoLink technology, the industry's first truly end-to-end commercial mobile solution, with SlimPort as underlying technology, and it is on display at both ZTE's booth #31431 in South Hall 3 and the SlimPort booth #36912 in South Hall 4 of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Ultra-HD 4K displays, the latest advance in video performance, offer vertical resolution of nearly 4 000 pixels (3 840 pixels x 2 160 lines) - twice the resolution of today's popular 1 080p HDTV displays. Leading TV and chipmakers are adding support for 4K output capability to their latest devices, while companies such as Netflix and Amazon have begun creating 4K programming for the new format.

"Today's mobile consumers are managing more and more content through their smartphones, and they expect to be able to share that content with projectors, monitors and TVs," said Ni Fei, General Manager of Nubia brand. "Thanks to their built-in 4K capabilities, our new Nubia handsets will allow them, for the first time, to use their smartphones to view movies and other content in the latest high-definition format."

"We're proud to be part of this ground-breaking development," said Andre Bouwer, vice-president of marketing for Analogix. "Our new Ultra-HD SlimPort interface technology allows Nubia users to do even more with their phones, which we expect to increasingly begin to replace high-quality video players and game consoles."

Analogix's ANX781X family of SlimPort Ultra-HD solutions allow mobile devices to connect to a wide variety of projectors, TVs and monitors, including those with VGA and HDMI interfaces, using SlimPort cables and adaptors.
