Marstec, sole representative in SA for CCC Mobile`s Celesta solutions, has implemented a Celesta Mobile Enterprise on the Nokia 9110 Communicator solution for Sasol SMX.
Due to the nature of the SMX business, Sasol SMX operates from remote customer premises without the computer and communication facilities normally taken for granted.
The administration of stock requisitioning, stock transfers and general stock information has been very difficult and has taken place with huge time lapses (up to two weeks) before the ERP (SAP/R3) system can be accurately updated.
By introducing the Celesta Mobile Enterprise solution, which integrates with the SAP/R3 system, Sasol SMX`s engineers are now instantaneously able to perform all these transactions from any of their customer locations.
The site manager at each customer location executes the transactions on the Nokia 9110/9110i Communicator. The basic process is as follows:
. A stock overview is performed to assess stock levels in relation to customer requirements;
. A stock requisition is generated on the Nokia 9110 for the replenishment of raw material at the customer site;
. On delivery of any stock, a plant to plant stock transfer is executed to adjust the stock movement on SAP/R3;
. The product is then "produced" and delivered to the customer; and
. A weekly backflushing transaction corrects the stock balances on the SAP/R3 system.
Sasol SMX is now able to keep accurate, real-time records of its stock levels, which in turn enables the company to respond to its customers` requirements more effectively.
Celesta solutions are developed by CCC Mobile. Headquartered in Oulu, Finland, CCC Mobile is one of the leading companies building software products for mobile phones.
