The complete solution for IT bookworms

Johannesburg, 09 Feb 2001

Microsoft Press has joined forces with MSBooks.co.za, a division of TMG (SA) - an IT consulting, training and support centre, to establish an online shop for Microsoft`s range of computer books and multimedia training tools. This provides computer professionals and end-users with a one-stop shop, saving them the time and effort of sourcing books the traditional way.

"Microsoft Press is committed to helping customers get the most out of their Microsoft software, by providing them with a comprehensive, affordable line of Microsoft books and self help training kits," says Raymond Moodley, business development manager at Microsoft Southern Africa. "Our relationship with MSBooks.co.za has resulted in a value-added service to our customers. They are now able to view the contents of the book at leisure and make an informed decision before purchasing."

"As a Microsoft Certified Partner and reseller, we have found that our customers are often faced with time constraints and therefore value a service offering them the opportunity to purchase books online, and have it delivered to their doorstep," says Ian de Jager, CEO of TMG (SA), and founder of MSBooks.co.za.

De Jager says that the e-retail revolution is evolving and by going the online route, MSBooks.co.za is reaching a bigger audience. "By following the trends of our online shoppers we were able to create a consumer database. The database enables us to keep our customers up to date with the latest titles on the market, and the products that suit their individual needs. Our range of books from Microsoft Press includes over 500 titles, among others the official curriculum for Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS), Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Office 2000."

"We still provide our customers with the option of buying books at our various retail outlets nationwide. However, the online shopping site is becoming more feasible, as we have experienced an estimated 200 - 300 hits daily," concludes de Jager.
