IBM unveils IT standards policy

IBM is instituting a new corporate policy that formalises the company's behaviour when helping to create open technical standards to enable electronic devices and software programs to interoperate with one another, says Market Watch.

IBM encouraged members of standards communities to adopt similar principles, which are more stringent than required by existing laws or policies.

IBM's new standards policy promotes simplified and consistent intellectual property practices, and emphasises that all stakeholders, including the open source community and those in growth markets, should have equal footing as they participate in the standards process.

Kodak teams with Kaulkin

Kodak's Document Imaging business and Kaulkin Information Systems (KIS), a provider in software as a service (SaaS) technologies, have come to an agreement that will provide businesses with an effective solution for automating data management, reports Market Watch.

Marketed jointly, Kodak Scanners and Imaging Systems will be combined with the KISTrack document management, workflow, compliance and risk mitigation SaaS technology platform.

KIS is one of the first providers of SaaS technology and solutions to address specific international, federal, state and industry imposed governance, risk and compliance standards.

Rohati Systems, provider in high-performance network-based entitlement control solutions, has joined the Oracle Security, Risk Management and Compliance Initiative and has become a member of the Oracle Partner Network, says IT News Online.

Rohati will demonstrate its high performance Transaction Networking System (TNS) at the Oracle OpenWorld Security, Risk Management and Compliance Pavilion in San Francisco.

Rohati will also demonstrate how the TNS enables enterprises to easily define and enforce per-transaction policies across all types of users, a broad range of applications and data centre resources.
