GE Healthcare, Merck partner

GE Healthcare has signed an agreement with drug maker Merck & Co, to provide lung imaging technology to assist in respiratory drug development, says CNN Money.

Under the deal, Merck will receive non-exclusive access to GE's Spin Signal Technology, which provides quick MRIs of lung function.

Chalfont St Giles, England-based GE Healthcare, a division of General Electric, did not provide financial details of the agreement.

New partnership presents opportunities

NewMarket Technology and digiMedical Solutions, have released a combined healthcare technology service offering anticipated to achieve $20 million from organic sales within the first year following the launch, reports CNN Money.

NewMarket and digiMedical each provide healthcare technology solutions, and the combination of the respective solutions creates a better overall healthcare technology solution.

The separate customer lists create an immediate cross-selling opportunity for both NewMarket and digiMedical.

Heart Clinics Northwest chooses METAmessage

Heart Clinics Northwest has purchased Onset Technology's METAmessage Advanced Paging, states CNN Money.

The solution adds paging functionality to the provider's BlackBerry smartphone deployment, eliminating the need for doctors and nurses and other healthcare professionals to carry a pager.

"For healthcare professionals, having one less device to carry around is huge," said Mary Odenthal, COO at Heart Clinics Northwest.
