Innovative Card Technologies, Inc (NASDAQ: INVC), developer of the ICT DisplayCard for e-banking, e-commerce and data access authentication, today announced that Internet Solutions (IS), a leading converged communications service provider, will roll-out the ICT DisplayCard to its client base.
IS, which serves 80% of South Africa's top companies, was highly satisfied with the ICT DisplayCard's quality and performance in an initial deployment to VIP customers and employees begun in November 2007.
The ICT DisplayCards, supplied and implemented by leading security solutions distributor SecureData, will be deployed as a hardware authenticator for the company's Internet Solutions Secure Connect - an outsourced remote-access solution that allows offsite users secure access to company resources from anywhere at any time. Internet Solutions announced its new IS Secure Connect service, which includes the ICT DisplayCard as a hardware authenticator, on 6 April.
In this application, the user will enter a one-time passcode displayed on the card's screen into an online account login interface to access company data while on the road or working remotely, which will allow secure corporate network access. Hardware tokens such as the ICT DisplayCard are in demand from both private and government clients; recent breaches in mobile authentication (onetime passcodes sent by text message to mobile phones) have led the South African government to favour hardware authentication as a secure, out-of-band security method.
"The ICT DisplayCard received extremely positive feedback from both employees and our VIP customers. The cards proved to be an ideal blend of security, convenience and portability - all key attributes for a successful authentication solution," said Hayden Lamberti, manager Security Solutions, of Internet Solutions. "We are eager to offer the same premier level of security and convenience to all our IS Secure Connect customers. The initial uptake from our client base has far outstripped our initial expectations and as a result we are significantly increasing the projected orders for the card in order to cater to client demand."
Recent growth in the African economy has resulted in IS expanding its services across all parts of the continent as clients demand reliable and robust networking connectivity throughout the African market. IS is the first South African ISP to achieve Microsoft Gold Certification, is the first company outside of the US to be certified as a Cisco Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) and the 2008 Fortinet Europe, Middle East and Africa MSSP of the year.
"We are thrilled to hear such enthusiastic, positive feedback from our end-users, and we look forward to working with Internet Solutions and SecureData in making this customer deployment a success," said Steven R Delcarson, Innovative Card Technologies' CEO and President.
