QAD named one of `Hottest Companies of 2004`

Johannesburg, 20 Jul 2004

QAD, provider of enterprise solutions for global manufacturers, has been named by START Magazine editors to the roster of "Hottest Companies of 2004" in the magazine`s July issue. The award acknowledges QAD`s contributions to the manufacturing industry, and the reputation its flagship software, MFG/PRO, has earned as a backbone for collaboration across the supply chain.

The 2004 honour marks the second year that QAD has earned this recognition for its achievements. In support of their selection, START editors noted QAD`s unparalleled commitment to lean manufacturing, through thought leadership on the topic and products that help streamline and optimise production. The award singled out the product, QAD Supply Visualization, for its ability to facilitate initiatives such as vendor-managed inventory.

START editors also cited QAD`s standout growth in a year when technology investment has only just begun to show signs of recovery. The award acknowledges QAD`s revenue performance and recent customer wins, as well as its global presence, serving 5 200 customer sites worldwide in six vertical industries including automotive, consumer products, electronics, food and beverage, industrial and medical.

"It`s rewarding to receive this kind of recognition and validation for QAD`s focused approach to enterprise software for manufacturing," said Pamela Lopker, QAD president and chairman of the board. "For more than 20 years, QAD has combined the best thinking in manufacturing theory with leading-edge technology to provide global manufacturers with solutions to their real-world problems."

The Hottest Companies Award was created for software and hardware vendors that have developed innovative applications or products for the manufacturing industry. Considerations include vendors` innovativeness and uniqueness of products or services, growth record, and competitive stature in the marketplace.
