Smaller businesses can now benefit from high-performance video conferencing, with the introduction of Sony's new PCS-11P system. Ideal for growing organisations, this addition to Sony's Video conference range presents an affordable solution to the travel and communication challenges facing today's small to medium-sized businesses.
"These organisations can now afford to invest in the technology required to keep up with the increasing communication demands placed upon them," says Will Klopper, Sony Business SA product manager. "Globalisation of the world's markets requires fast decision-making from today's businesses and improved means of communication. Video conferencing presents an effective, reliable and low-cost solution."
Sony's new system will unlock operational efficiencies and business opportunities for many market segments. Corporate companies, educational establishments, scientific institutions and medical practitioners can now use video conferencing to improve their internal as well as external communications.
Based on the same powerful platform as the Sony PCS-1P, the PCS-11P delivers impressive audio and video quality, thereby offering a viable alternative to face-to-face meetings while maintaining a natural meeting experience. The PCS-11P can be applied to many user environments: from desk usage to medium-sized meeting rooms, within companies, institutions or in the home.
Fully compatible with other video conference systems on the market, the PCS-11P supports all common industry standards, allowing for simple integration into customers' existing systems. The PCS-11P also works together seamlessly with the PCS-1P's graphic capabilities such as data-sharing and white-boarding.
Furthermore, it supports H.264 video coding, offering a greatly improved video quality compared to the conventional video standard H.263. The PCS-11P comes as an IP system, ideal for connecting over corporate networks, ADSL or DSL, or with an optional interface for communication over ISDN. The system also supports the Advanced Encryption Standard; ensuring video conferences over IP networks remain secure.
