Microsoft`s best kept secret out the bag

Johannesburg, 12 Aug 2004

Microsoft solution provider, IS Partners, will present a live Webcast on 19 August, specifically looking at Microsoft`s vision for business intelligence. The Webcast will highlight components of the SQL Server platform that make up a holistic environment for delivering cost-effective, agile business intelligence (BI) solutions.

Caron Mooney, director of IS Partners, says a key component in the SQL Server arsenal is Microsoft Reporting Services, which completely eliminates the requirement for third-party consumer reporting tools.

"A little market education can go a long way to realising tangible cost savings when implementing reporting solutions. Organisations running SQL Server can effectively harness the tools they already have at their disposal.

"Reporting Services replaces any additional tools needed for generating flat reports or reports with predefined navigation. It also addresses the whole report management environment and will do report distribution in almost any format through the Microsoft SQL scheduling engine, including caching and storage of report histories," she says.

The Webcast will focus on traditional as well as OLAP report creation and delivery through the SQL Server engine, using what is possibly Microsoft`s best kept secret and an integral part of the Microsoft BI framework - Reporting Services.

To register online for the Webcast, go to www.antfarm.co.za/microsoft/ispartners. Specific question will also be addressed during the Webcast, and can be submitted ahead of time to info@ispartners.co.za.
