Datacentrix strengthens board

Johannesburg, 24 Nov 2006

IT infrastructure, services and solutions provider, Datacentrix, is pleased to announce the immediate promotion of Ahmed Mahomed to Group Chief Operating Officer, reporting to the CEO, Gerhard Uys.

Ahmed has been in the IT industry for nine years and the managing director of the largest division, Datacentrix Infrastructure business, for the last five years.

The company has further strengthened the board with the appointment of Israel Skosana CA (SA) as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect.

The company also announces the retirement of two directors from the board, Klaas Lammers and Charl Joubert. Lammers is an executive director and co-founder of Datacentrix. Lammers will leave Datacentrix at the end of February 2007 to focus on personal opportunities outside of the IT industry.

"After 20 exciting years with the company, I would like to take a break and although there is never a right time to exit, I feel confident that with the current company performance and depth of management, that the timing is appropriate to explore my personal interests," says Lammers.

"I remain a significant shareholder in Datacentrix and I expect the company to continue its relentless growth since listing eight years ago."

Joubert remains with the company in an executive capacity, to strengthen and grow the ERP business. "I started the ERP division in Datacentrix and after the early years of success, the business has failed to meet the company's and my own high expectations for it, and I believe it will benefit from focused attention without the other distractions that come from being an executive at board level. There is every prospect of this division being Datacentrix's future growth engine and my team and I are dedicated to making this happen," says Joubert.

Gary Morolo, Datacentrix chairman, says the changes to the Datacentrix board and the management team demonstrate the maturity of the company and its ability to grow both the business and its people in line with its stated strategy. "Klaas's energy and passion for the business has been very exacting and it comes as no surprise, that he would want to take a break and recharge his batteries.

"The new appointments reflect the company's healthy organic growth and the phasing in of the new members who will be poised, with the rest of the board, to take the business forward in the New Year."

"As co-founder of Datacentrix, Klaas has contributed greatly to the growth of the company and we would like to wish him the very best in his personal endeavours."

Morolo says the board is pleased with the company's strong performance in all strategic areas of growth, including government, enterprise systems and storage, and selective outsourcing.

"Datacentrix remains a sound, solid company, with a dynamic customer and partner focus and a strong performance-driven culture. The board is confident of the company's prospects and looks forward to a positive period of continued expansion in 2007."
