EMC to Assist Disaster Response in China

To EMC All,

The devastating earthquake in
China has taken tens of thousands of lives and left millions of people homeless. At this time, Denis Yip and Charles Fan have confirmed that all EMC employees in the region are safe and unharmed, but we all remain mindful of the victims of the disaster who continue to suffer from lack of shelter, clean water and medical essentials.

To assist relief efforts, EMC has pledged $25,000 to the
International Red Cross/Red Crescent. Our fellow EMCers in China have already begun relief efforts. In addition, many of our employees in other EMC communities worldwide have generously asked how they can contribute. In response to this disaster, EMC will offer a match to employee donations made to Red Cross or Red Crescent societies for earthquake relief.  For full information on how to make a donation eligible for matching, please visit our website at China Earthquake.

We are also mindful of the crisis in
Myanmar and are closely monitoring the situation and identifying ways to offer our assistance. Once we’ve determined the appropriate response, we will communicate to employees.

As a global company, we have employees, customers and partners who are close to the devastation in these regions. On behalf of EMC, we continue to hold the victims of these terrible natural disasters in our thoughts, and hope that relief and recovery will come quickly to those affected.
