Esquire launches ABIT IC7-MAX3 motherboards for optimal P4 performance

Johannesburg, 07 Aug 2003

Esquire Technologies, one of the leading distributors of computer hardware and peripherals, introduces the ABITIC7-MAX3 motherboard, which is claimed to be a world first in advanced technology, bringing superior cooling, performance, storage, security, overclocking and multimedia to the desktop market.

Esquire, exclusive distributor in southern Africa for ABIT products, will launch the new MAX3 series of motherboards to coincide with the overseas launch.

ABIT Computer Corporation, headquartered in Taiwan, is one of the world's leaders in the design and distribution of a complete family of award-winning motherboards and multimedia products.

Gary Febel, Product Manager of Esquire, comments: "The ABIT IC7-MAX3 motherboards arrive in SA during the second week of August and are eagerly awaited by PC enthusiasts, particularly the gaming and multimedia markets."

The new ABIT MAX3 motherboard provides faster and more reliable LAN connectivity compared to other PCI solutions, due to the Intel CSA Gigabit LAN. By using data bypassing and optimised path design in the 875P chipset, data transfer speed can be accelerated.

With the new Silicon Image 3114 PCI chip, users of IC7-MAX3 motherboards can link to 6 SATA HDDs at the same time (PCI and SB). Silicon Image 3115 supports RAID 0/1/0+1 features for maximum data security and performance.

Features:

* ABIT innovation OTES technology, which reduces heat generation from PWM modules and provides lower CPU temperatures; proper ducting; longer product life and enhanced system overclocking.

* ABIT Game Accelerator, which is a unique feature that combines Intel Performance Acceleration Technology (PAT) with special memory fine-tuning technology to maximise system performance. Users have a choice of three performance modes - Turbo, Street Racer and F1 to boost performance up to 17%.

* ABIT Secure IDE: This special encryption device connects to the IDE hard disk and has a special decoder. Without a special key, the hard drive can't be opened by anyone, therefore preventing hackers and would-be data thieves from accessing the hard disk, even if they remove it from the PC.

* ABIT SoftMenu technology: The overclocking function includes CPU frequency, Vcore, multiplier, chipset and DDR voltage and AGPVDPQ Voltage adjustment to maximise system performance.

* ABIT FanEQ: Users can now work in a quiet environment with minimal system noise. This unique technology will automatically adjust the CPU fan and the motherboard fan speed according to the system's loading and temperature.

* ABIT FanSecure: The motherboard continually watches the CPU fan condition to ensure that the system is safe. If the fan fails, FanSecure shuts down the machine.
