The idu Group
Dynamic and inspired, idu is a group of
energetic entrepreneurs driven to make a
difference in the markets we serve. And we are
living our vision – our phenomenal growth,
linked largely to the success of our in-house
developed software, bears testament to the
success with which we have harnessed our
creative talents to produce a suite of products
and services that truly add value to our
clients’ operations.
idu has combined software development skills with financial
expertise to form a formidable team providing
financial consulting advice to large- and
medium-sized companies and distributing a suite
of proprietary financial planning and reporting
software.
Our history is short but impressive. idu was
established in Cape Town in 1998 to provide
support for Masterpiece. From the outset, idu
enjoyed considerable success in the South
African market and soon found that the delivery
of additional user-friendly applications added
immense value to our clients.
Building on this solid foundation, the group
restructured its operations in 1999 to form
separate consulting and software companies.
Establishing the two independent companies has
improved our focus and created renewed vitality
in each discipline.
idu Software
Our software operation has focused exclusively
on the delivery of our proprietary software.
These applications include a number of offerings
based on the proprietary idu product set,
including idu-Concept, idu-Target, idu-Assets
and idu-Recons. All our products are focused on
niche markets around the delivery of financial
information and functions to predominantly
non-financial users.
The flagship product, idu-Concept focuses on budgeting and
distribution of management information to
non-financial users. The success of this product
heralded the creation of a more sales focused
product, idu-Target. Numerous requests from our
users also prompted the creation of idu-Assets,
a tool to deliver distributed, user friendly
access to the asset registers of companies.
idu Software has performed well in the South
African market and is now actively establishing
markets further afield.
idu Consulting
Growth of the consulting operation has expanded
our level of experience and our exposure to
leading-edge trends, products and opportunities.
We have applied this knowledge to the
application of our core product suite and,
increasingly, to third party products.
Our ability to provide a seamless link between clients and
third party software suppliers delivers
meaningful value to our client base. We seek to
find value-added applications to deploy in our
clients’ environments in our role as expert
consultants, without any product bias.
By adopting this balanced approach to the
selection of products we ensure that our clients
ultimately benefit from the full breadth of our
experience as it can be applied to their
environments.
During 2002 idu Consulting expanded it’s base
of consultants to include all consultants
actively involved in the Masterpiece arena, and
can now boast the last two, Computer Associates
country managers for Masterpiece amongst our
number. |
